Well, I finally have good news. After a very rocky road, Easton is getting better. He was very sick for quite some time and we thought we were going to lose him. He had an infection that had shut down liver functions and had lots of fluid buildup. The docs finally found that it was a bone infection in his sternum. They stared an agressive medication for that and he is now getting much better. He is still on a vent but mostly breathing on his own with just some help.

Hey Kevin, I was just having brunch with mom, and I got to thinking about you and your family. How's it going with Big "E"? I was hoping to hear some good news today. Wish Brittany a happy mothers day from us please. Thank Dom

Thanks. I'm sorry I have not posted more about Easton. It's just that every time we got good news, it was followed by a serious setback. Easton was released from the hospial 2 weeks ago. He had 24 hr home care nurses to help Brit take care of him. Brit was trying to do college homework and the day shift nurse turned Easton without tightening his trache strap. The trach came out and he sufocated. Brit heard some unnatural noises from his room and ran to him to find him with no pulse. Brit lost her composure and ran outside trying to call 911. Thankfully, the nurse was able to resusitate him before the ambulance got there. He was transported back to kansas city childrens hospital and is trying to recuperate from this. I don;t know how is weak heart has managed to keep going after so many near losses. He has more fight in him than i can imagine. Brit is back to living at the Mcdonalds house just a week after being home for the first time in 8 months. She is doing her best to keep her faith. Thanks The Rush family

As I'm not glad to hear that Easton's progress has been hindered by careless nursing, I am happy to hear that he's still got the will to live. He is a survivor, and there must be a reason he hasn't given up. He's gonna do great things someday, Kev... you and the family stick together and take care of your/ our little miracle. All the best to the family, Dom

You've got a fighter there. That's great news. Prayers continue for Easton and your family. I can only imagine what you guys are going through, and the joys knowing that you've had another day with Easton.
