I'm planning in servicing my brothers reel, my question is instead of using carbontex drags; is it possible to use HT-100 drags?

I notice the HT-100 drags are a bit thicker than the carbontex drags.  Would you know if there would be any difference in performance?  And what size HT-100 drag washers should I use for a S546?

yes, but carbontex drag washers are an exact fit.  penn ht-100 drag washers can create spacing problems.  they can be a real headache.  stick with carbontex unless you don't mind the risk of having to fiddle with the drags and the washer stack.  been there, done that.

Alan thanks for the info, I did know about that problem. I'm sticking to carbontex drags.
