Hi all i will be visiting the Philippines in late february early march the purpose of the trip was to get some snakehead fishing in with the guys from the FilAng forum and visit family, two days after making reservations the island of negros oriental was hit by a 6.9 magnitude earthquake,i have made plans to visit the affected island and my friend Mike Alano of SPOON (SPOrtfishing Oriental Negros)a chapter of our filipino anglers forum,he has started relief efforts to the poor villagers of the region who have been dislodged from their homes,i have donated to the effort and will be holding a raffle at a FilAng meeting hosted by Aling Nenes pond in valenzuela,Manila.
So far we have been able to feed and aid dozens of familys in the Dumaguete area with donations as little as $1 which can go a long way in the philippines if any of you would like to help out by donating even $1.00 the anglers of the Philippines would greatly apprieciate your help.
Kit Belen a respected angler and writer from the region now living in UAE has helped us set up a subforum and a page that you can donate through paypal.please visit these sites to follow our exploits. Thanks for reading this Kenny.

Thank you both for the generous donations it may be a small donation to us but it is huge to the victims in Dumaguette, all the money goes directly to the aid packages.
Mike Alano and family  packing the food packages

the relief packages

A couple of hours ago, we loaded up 60packs of relief goods. As of now 2 of our Filang/Spoon guys are on their way to Martilo, La Libertad and distribute these of supplies and assess what more we can do. Estimated total travel distance 220 kms...

My vacation to the philipines was a great success the fishing was'nt as great for me this time around lots of missed strikes a few windy days but all in all it was nice to see old friends and family ,put on a few reel tech clinics and make new friends. The filipino people are most gracious and polite and stop at nothing to help those in need my first trip was to the earthquake hit island of negros oriental to visit my friend Mike Alano and his family who had planned a mini one night getaway it was also a break for them after days of packing and delivering food packages for the earthquake victims

after that it was back to my wifes village to visit the inlaws three days later and still no fish   then came the fund raising EB (eye ball, face to face meeting)

Special thanks to those of you from this forum who donated to the cause
