I had a couple requests from members looking for collectable senators. Well here is an absolute beauty. It is unused, never had line on it. This reel is from my personal collection and I've had it for many years. I recently added a new Jvariance one piece frame and aftermarket power handle, those 2 items alone were almost $100.

This reel is an early to late '60s model 4/0 senator, nearly impossible to find unused. I'll offer this as a one time deal here on this forum for $130 + $10 shipping in the USA only.(sorry, I hate the cost & hassle of international shipping.)

Here's a couple pics, please try not to drool all over your computer.

Wow! Ted, and I thought that I bought all of your reels Grin.
You're right Justin, I'm sure this one will get "photo of the month".
Very nice Ted.

Hello Max,

Very nice reel !!   I have couple of Penn 4/0's that I think are also from the 60's but the side plate is different from your reel.  Without a pic I know this may be difficult but maybe you can tell me which of our reels is older.  My 4/0 left hand side plate is also black and has a marlin, water, and a boat and Senator under the bushing.  The right hand side plate has Penn Senator 4/0  inside a circle.  I am trying to learn more about these Senators and was interested in the different side plates and what the age of my reel might be.

Not sure on that one John, penn changed designs sometimes on a yearly basis back then.

Hey Ted,

Thanks for offering one of your senators up... I know it ain't easy to part with Wink
I'm looking for the big senators (over 9/0) and the high speed with the chromed over spools.
Nice reel, but I need all original... I'm a picky, pain in the neck! Wink
Thanks

This reel could easily be put back to original with a few frame posts and a new reel seat & handle for probably around $40 and then you could sell the frame and power handle and have dough in your pocket.......BTW Dom, another word for "picky" is "choosy"......And we all know that "choosy mothers choose jif", so now we know you really must like peanut butter.

Party at Ted's?  I'm sure his wife will be happy if all of his new friends walked away with a parting gift. Grin

Seriously, that's one nice looking reel at a great price.
