For boat trailer bearings probably, for reels I wouldn't. The only greases I would use in bearings or general reel lubing are Yamaha Marine, Penn X-1R (or is it XR-1 Huh?), Cal's or Shimano.

It has the tendency to turn black over a period of time. Go with yamaha grease or royal purple
