Avet Drag Curve Modification

Reading another post, it seems there is a procedure for altering the drag curve on Avet reels. Is this true? I love my Avets, but I would love them even more if I could get a gradual increase in drag pressure as I move the lever. With the caveat that drag pressure isn't compromised. I want to still get 9 and 16 out of my MX and 15 and 20 out of my LX. It would be fantastic if I could get 8 pounds or so out of my LX with the lever being halfway between Bait and Strike. 15 is just too much sometimes.

there is no free lunch. for a gradual drag curve, you are looking at a low drag range. for a high drag range, the curve is steep. the only way to change it is to increase the actual traveling distance of the lever. alan

That's what I thought, but wanted to make sure nothing new had been discovered.
Thanks
