I've taken to a small mod to help in lubing the latest Communist Chinese style Abu handles.  I use grease rather than oil, because the reels I get to see in my micro repair gig, are grit-impregnated at the junction of paddle and arm. Grease flushes the grit out, while oil allows it to remain.

Problem being: that wee plastic decorative bit on the top is not liquid tight around the seam. Any attempt to grease at this point would let out the grease along the seam, preventing same from working its way to the junction. So: I just pop it off, impregnate the paddle border with that super-thick "crazy-glue", put it back, and let dry.  Then I can load the paddle with grease, which works its way down to the junction to flush the crud.
