Browsing through this sub-forum, I'm seeing what may be diffrent terms used to describe Avet parts, especially the ball bearings. My Avet is an SX 6/4-MC. The outside(to the head-plate) most spool shaft b.bearing is called by Avet, an "End Housing Bearing"#48(the smallest pinion gear fits down into it) and the next b.bearing moving inward is called the "Drag Bearing"#20(fits into the other side of the pressure plate, which Avet calls the " Brake Disc").
Which one is what people are calling the "pinion bearing"?, i.e. the one that gets crushed all the time?
Fishing tackle is an art form and all fish caught on the right tackle are"Gfish"!

I believe it's #48 END HOUSING BEARING.  It takes the axial load from the spool shaft.

Thanks AJ. That was my best guess for a "pinion bearing", but lookin and thinkin about lever drag function on this reel, it just wouldn't come to me.
