avet mxl drag question help????????/

went to set 9lbs. at strike on a mxl  and had tension at handle also no freespool  when set? what do i check at this point

first back off drag pre set till you get free spool, then check how many pounds of drag you have. has it been apart before this problem?

9 pounds is the limit of this reel when it is brand new, straight out of the box.  you can change the belleville configuration from "()()" to "(())" and get a higher range, but it creates other problems.  you may actually have to use a flat washer to add some "width" to the washer configuration, such as "(())|" to get the reel to work properly.  you're looking at a little trial and error here. or, um, mostly error and a little trial.  if you need more washers to play with, you can call avet or i can send some out to you.  alan
