I agree, Especially if I am on a party boat, I always bring a backup rod / reel combo and a backup reel for each in the bottom of my dry bag. On my boat, I always keep 4 spare rod reel combo's on board. I am READY!

I'm sure it was intended to be funny, but seeing that reel go overboard brought a tear to my eye.  Even if it was a beater, I'm sure I could have used some of those parts.
So many reels, so little time.
