Dan, I'm glad that you posted that picture. The plate that you're showing was discontinued by Penn but I don't recall the reason, you have an injection molded plate. Do you mind showing us one shot of the plate without the dogs? It appears that you didn't have to do much shaving, nice job by the way. You could make those dogs engage at the same time, from the 15-114H to the 15-116, the dogs  lenght goes up by appr. 1/8". I'm sure if you install one 15-114H and one 15-115, the dogs would engage at the same time. Lee might have some ready for us. Thanks again for showing. Sal

I was about to grind mine down so that they would mate up or completely alternate halfway inbetween.  Hmm, decisions...
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

Six in one hand and a half dozen on the other Bryan, I would wait for the 15-115. You might still have to do a little filing, but I'm sure  it won't be much.

Thats good that that plate didn't have a problem because that is what my plate looks like.  Funny, mine works out with ratcheting every other, almost the middle of each Rachel, which is what I wanted, but not the same as Dan's.

Hi again guys, here is a pic without the dogs installed and alongside the replacement sideplate on the left (compression molded) for comparison, Sal, this is the pic you wanted right?

Alto Mare

Thanks Dan, I appreciate the shot. What you have there are plates that are made to swing left to right. You only needed to shave a little by the new dog area.... just as I suspected. For those of you that have the 1-114H that is molded to swing left to right, go for it, it's fairly easy. On the 113H, it's not worth the effort.

There is another small thing to consider, the little section you shave out to fit the second dog is also acting as a tab to support the bridge before it freespans to the sleeve just after the screw. I don't know how much deflection of the bridge plate occurs under load across that open span, but I suspect that more support would be better. I also think the 6/0 bridge is very stout and I'm being over cautious, just my structural construction background...  :-\ :-\

I also have a little structural construction background and have corrected architects a few times in the past ;D. I do not believe that shaving the area as I did on my Reel/Tank would cause any problems, there is enough material left to support the bridge plate. As everything else, the proof is in the pudding! As of now, I do not have any issues with mine.
I also want to add that most of the stress is absorbed by the frame itself, there isn't much sideway pressure on a reel under load. When a reel twists under load, as they do with graphite frames, that's when you'll have frames and gears problems. Tiburon has it right with their new frames, eliminating the inner rings creates one unit with the frame and plates. A reel that doesn't twist under load is a happy reel.
This is only my opinion.
Take care. Sal

Being this post is 6 years old. I'm not sure if alan still has them in stock.
Cortez Conversions has them in a ten tooth version.

Mystic parts also has these if alan can't help.

This post reminded me to ask this?  Is this 6/0 sleeve on the left an ElectraMate sleeve?
I ran across this 114h sleeve in a easy access drag plate.

Its hard telling Anthony.
I'd say with that straight shaft. Probably not.
It was probably made by someone here.

Didn't remember seeing any center hole at the bottom of any other stainless sleeve. I do see them on brass ones.

Thx
