I think if you like the squidder / surfmaster size then you should look into the 200 series.  There is a converted g220 with P components on BD by dueceswild.  He is asking $140 or OBO.  I think you can probably get it down to $125 or so.  Look really nice.

I can send you a box with a variety of sizes for you to handle and see which one you like best before buying one.
Let me know.

Lee, The Jigmaster came in two widths - 501/506 and 500/505. The equivalent Newell reels came in four sizes - 322 extra narrow, 332 medium or Penn 99 size, 338 Jigmaster 500/505 size and extra wide 344.
The answer to you question, "What's the Penn equivalent of a Newell 332-5", is a Penn 99 Silver Beach. But since you were asking about Jigmasters the 501/506 is closest to a Newell 332 not a 338 or 344. A Newell 322 would be the exact same width as a 501/506 and you will pay top dollar for one of these.
The 200, 300 and 400 series all share the same Jigmaster size drags. If you want a Surfmaster size reel then go with a 200 series reel. It is actually a little smaller in diameter than a Surfmaster. If you want a Jigmaster diameter go with a 300 series.

The 220 is the size I want but it will have to wait, thanks for the offer.
