What are the advantages (if any) to using SS Wool over Regular Steel Wool when cleaning reel parts?  Thanks, Joe.

Steel wool can leave minute articles on a surface. Regular steel wool will rust quickly, leaving little rust spots. I actually have found no use for any kind of steel wool in cleaning reels.

I like to use it to clean spool shafts, etc.

It works good for burnishing with a drill, like Fred does, but you need to blow out the fine fibers. I prefer scotch pads in various colors/grit, mostly green & white.
Love those open face spinning reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco Cardinals)
