Hi I'm new here I had a question about the torium 30 I've been wanting to get a new reel for the surf and was looking into the newer toriums but I've heard they are harder to cast and some say they aren't .. what are yalls thoughts thanks

I heard pretty good for casting, I can cast grom a boat my trinidad 16 easily 50-60 yards with no efforts with a 7ft casting rod, so with a longer surf  rod and good weight would reach a lot more yards

They are great casters. Guys in Hawaii replaced their jigmasters for these reels.
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D
