Removing the drag cover?? Penn International 20 early bird.

Hello out there,  can anyone tell me how to remove the round metal cover that shields the drag plate on a penn 20 trolling reel.  I tried to just pry it up/off.  but dont want to damage anything. seem like there must be a trick.  I,ve broken a tip off a kning to get under it but there is no room......Is it threaded on???  Laugh if you want!!!!I cant watch!!!!!  I,ll be waiting for advise.

look for metal tabs and pry up at that spot.  use the end of a plastic knife.
