John, that wooden handle was one of the special features of the 50th Anniversary International 50.  Here are a few photos of the Anniversary package and the page from the Penn catalog that year.  I think that I know where you could get a good deal on one if you might be interested.

Thanks,

Randy

Randy,

That is a beautiful reel and a true collector's item.  I'm afraid it would be out of my price range.  I'd love to start a collection of International I reels.  This would make a great starter centerpiece.  However, I think I might need to wait a few years until, hopefully, my financial situation catches up with my dreams.

Thanks for sharing!

John

Wow, some stunning stuff there!  So, is this a show as in showing off what you have?  Or were items for purchase as well?  I'm just getting started in the 'Reel' World and hadn't heard of this show...pun intended  :D

Looking again at these pics...in the second photo down what is the extension on the Jigmaster gearing?  Is that a 2 speed?

The answer to your question, it is a Reel Deal transmission. It is two speed. There is another brand called a Powerhouse, it have one speed.
