I personally will probably never have a new reel first off just because it says American made doesn't mean that it is. More than likely most of the parts are made over seas then shipped here for assembly. Second something about fishing with a reel that was made 20 to years or more before I was born that is still in near perfect condition and probably performs better than it did originally is immensely satisfying. Finally I just enjoy tinkering with all these old reels.
