There are a lot of nice surf rods down your way.  Okuma has a new Cedros surf rod that is really nice.  Nice action. 

If you are going for surf perch, Daiwa has a nice, light, fast action surf rod, 12', 8-15# test that has been proven a winner.

Good  luck in the rod search.  Everytime I got out looking to buy a rod, only makes me want to get back into wrapping rods again...but then I find one that I love.
