Hey guys,

I am in a bit of a bind here.

I have been restoring a Zillion 100HA but I have hit a brick wall.

Daiwa Australia have no Parts stock of the following:

6G819801 A/R Bearing

6G011601 Front Plate

Does anyone know where I might obtain these?

I am prepared to shop outside Australia if necessary.

Thanks,
Brett.

I have a couple of ARs, but I think they are ABU size, what's the measure on the AR bearing Brett?  Nothing BOCA fits?
Specialist Daiwa reel service, including Magseal.

Maybe I am being lazy or maybe I was just having a knee-jerk reaction to more Daiwa bad news.

It's about the only news I get from them these days.  NEWay........

Bearing: NSK DF501018 JAPAN  (German style Fine needle rollers, not like hex Koyo)

Dimensions: 10 x ~14.3 x 9

No joy with Boca but maybe I'm not doing it right?

This is what I have:

It's close;  I can't get a reference to the NSK
Specialist Daiwa reel service, including Magseal.

Yeah that would only be a last resort effort of desperation at this point.

Here's a pic.

Size looks similar, but less rollers.

Nope.

These are Koyo style hex bearings and are not compatible.

You will run into problems with fitting and I question whether it would provide sufficient stopping power.

See if you can find an old wreck somewhere.

So in the absence of other viable options, I rang Daiwa back to see if they might have an old wreck that I could pilfer.

During the course of the conversation the guy checked the part number again and guess what..............

"Yes, according to the computer we have six of those in stock."

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

So after regaining my composure, I rang back again the next day to see if I could get a reality check.

"Yes, I am holding the part in my hand as we speak."

Ok, that's the good news, But what the hell is going on with Daiwa service.

In the last few months it has plummeted from an B+ score to a D- and I am not the only one to notice this.

There parts service is now easily the worst I have ever experienced. Even worse than when some new kid was throwing incoming parts orders in the trash.

I really have grave concerns for the future of the company at this point.
