Free spool can be good to have if its too rough to kayak out a bait or you are fishing from a pier. If you are lucky enough to catch a small jack or other hardy bait you can tail hook it and swim it out to deeper water. Good free spool is a big plus in that situation.

You gotta have some big ones to swim out a bait even more so at night!!!!! I get nervous at night 100 yards out. I usually turn off my light so as to not see anything if something were to swim around or under!!!!

I just received the smooth drag kit and down to say that I thought the smooth drag kit is NOT carbon fiber and its the same material as the factory one. Any thoughts? This is a bummer.
