Well, I got Tom's squidder from Gil today. It is Spectacular!
This reel is complete. Has an Aluminum spool and all the internal Parts.

Just received my reel kit from Gil last week (a great guy to deal with ) and started to assemble it . I was able to find 2 new factory aluminum spools at a local fishing flea market here on Long Island . I would like to put a mini shark handle with a mini handle from Alan on it if they can make a smaller version. Would like to here from other members to see haw they built or modified theirs

Mine came the same way & it will stay that way. The reel will never see water. It will be in the living room where I can see it on a Plinth.

mine will come the same way, fully assembled. but will do a pre-use service(exploratory surgery) when i'm back in LA.

Rusty i think the 112H SS sleeve, which i think i have, fits the 146

. this will be the 1st thing i'll do.

Next week I'll try for pictures now that my 6/0 is here. No Newell's in the display. My Plinth Maker would have Heart Attack if I asked for 50 Newell Plinths.
