Funky look, but I think it will function just fine. There's still plenty of meat to to the job. I would radius the edge as Sal mentioned and I can make you some hardened dogs if need be.

I don't know. He was a really good guy. Maybe all of the negative comments. He didn't feel welcomed.

I've done it myself, but never meant to hurt his feelings. I really don't think he's the type that let it get to him, I had a few private conversations afterwards and were always pleasant.
The last time I contacted him, he said he was very busy putting his boat together, I wonder how that came out, it was a nice boat.
