Is it possible to change the gear ratio of these reels.  It is 3:1 and if I can reduce that rather than sending it out to get two speeded I'd much prefer to do that.  1.7:1 would be sweet.  Can this be done?  Anything close?  Anything?  Thanks.

Unfortunately, there is no main gear and pinion combo that is readily available to drop your gear ratio down from stock.  You will likely need to go to a different reel to get your low ratio.

Thanks for the info.  I guess I'll fish it as is.  Its not like these reels haven't caught fish at 3:1.  Maybe its for the best that I can't change it.  I'll start saving pennies for Cal's two speed treatment.
