Narrow Penn 68

Had a bunch left over parts played with parts till something work. Used 66 frame, base, and spool.

Nice. The 66, 67 and 68 all shared head- and tail plates of identical dimensions, and the internals were also identical. The only differences were the model number engraved on the head plate; the tail plates were absolutely identical within the three models. The reels were thus identical except for width... the 66 being the most narrow, the 68 being the widest. One could theoretically assemble all three reels with one set of plates, just swapping out spool, posts and stand....

Yes, I guess you would get a lot of that. I bought a 501 a while back ,but it had a 500 head plate. If you are buying to collect, it can get very disappointing.
