Were these considered good reels back in the day?

Mike, running like a top......was able to extract the screws, got a spool, couple dogs and pinion, havent fished it yet but feels real good in the hands.  Was debating on what to do with the index posts for the bridge (maybe drill all the way through and expoxy some brass posts in place, but with the gear sleeve bearing lending support will give it a try as is)  I will eventually get the CC bridge for it at sometime.   Bill
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

True now. But the designed and made in Japan reels are what moved the market. The highest end stuff comes from Asia now too.
