48" LED shop lights at Ocean State Job Lot for $19.95. Equivalent to 5 60W incandescent bulbs. 5 yr warranty. I  believe Ocean State is east coast only but still a great deal if available in your area.

They are stackable too. Trying to get my whole shop changed over to LED.

Lou there is an alternative to led strip lights - len panels. I have been using them for a year. The ones I used were 1200mm by 300mm (4ft by 1ft) rated at 40w each and very low profile at 10mm thick. They come with various bracket/hanging systems but I simply drilled the frames and screwed them to the ceiling. They give a light similar to daylight - it's like having a hole cut in the roof. 2 of them in my work area replaced 8 x 50w halogen downlighters and provide shadowless lighting

Very cool Chris, I haven't seen those. I wish my basement had a finished ceiling but unfortunately not.

Boy, with that rating they must be super bright!

They are just like daylight - they give a very even spread of light - ideal work lights
