Yep about 10 lbs is all you need when spooling spectra even on the larger pound tests. You see the line will only compress so much and will lay on a spool rock hard. Some people think that if they use 30 lbs of drag that the spectra should spooled onto the reel at 30 lbs and that is just not the case. It gives you a nice workout but does nothing to make the spectra not dig into it's self.

I have looked at the Sato line winder, they look nice and they will work but I can make my own for far less $$, I want a line counter and a good method for tensioning line.
