It is a nile perch. I was lucky enough to catch a few on Lake Aswan about 15 years ago.

Had that happen to a good friend (Woody Petersen) up at Madeline Island on Lake Superior back in '82.  :o He had a couple of extra toddies that night.  :ct  $30,000 was a lot of bucks for a car back in those days.  ;)  They never did get the car out.  :-[

It never ceases to amuse me the stuff people do on the first ice on  a lake, guy here in Muskegon MI was doing doughnuts and fell through. :o

Yeah, there was a video posted of a guy driving in circles, I am pretty sure this was the guy.
I am not sure what fines he will face but the tow/recovery bill might be equally painful.
