Penn 25 GLS

I have an old well used Penn 25 GLS. The reel appears to work fine except it has one significant issue. When I back the lever down, the reel does not  go into free spool. I appears that the spool isn't shifting over as it should.??????

Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

the bearings are probably rusted to the spool shaft.
