Guys I need to some education on these reels.  Not finding the two I have any where. Is there a benchmark model ? I'm wanting to use 30 - 40 lb. line ?  ... Jeff

98 silver beach is a knuckle buster and would be ok with 30lb. Might try taping your thumb instead of a thumb stall
Do what you can with that you have where you are

I've acquired a few more knuckle busters to add to the collection.

Here is a Penn 165 I scored off EBay that was already pretty darn clean. The stand has seen better days but looks original and does not have a part number so I'm guessing it's correct?

And last for now is a $10 Penn 77 that is very clean and will be fished this year. I'm hoping to hone my casts from shore and make this my go to creek and beach casting reel for coho and pinks. I'll mount it on a long,  slow action rod.
