I got a call Wednesday morning and made the 5 hour drive to the coast to fish today,  40", 42" and 49".

Hi, my name is Lee and I have a fishing gear problem.

I have all of the answers, yup, no, maybe.

Dropper loop with 40oz sinkers and large herring.  2 of us were using two speed Avet HX reels and the other had a Shimano Tekota 700.  All on 40/50 rods,  Supper Seeker, a United Composite and my coustom built spiral wrapped rod with a Seeker Hercules blank.

We were fishing "shallow" at around 300'.

Nice Lee! Thanks for sharing.
Oregon was one place I lived, where a long drive was so much nicer than other places.
Fishing tackle is an art form and all fish caught on the right tackle are"Gfish"!

 Nice !!

Gotta love it when the weather cooperates and the fish do too !!

I'm still waiting for our weather to settle down for another opportunity at halibut. Can't catch a break this season. Every opener seems to be stormy weather. I have 6 hour drive to the coast towing my boat. The ferry ride alone is $230 round trip. I'd actually be better off just buying my halibut from local fish market, then who cares about the weather !!
