salmon hooker

I bought one near the end of august to long cast for silvers with a berkley 9.6 rod .
It will trow 10 oz plunker rig about 170 foot with 40# power pro with a 4 foot leader and #4 owener hook.
About the same with 10.6 cast useing a TR 1000 also have older TLD15 I will tray next year.
But ? I am really thinking about a 12 foot Rainshadow 1386 or a 1385 made into a spin rod but will have to build it my self.
Have done Calstar rod for tuna from 15-30 up to 80-100 when I fished Calif.years ago.
What is your thoughts on the rod for plunking /fish 90% from the bank on the Kenai at Soldotna Ak.

BTW dont give up on me I will be sending the Shamano reels down your way soon.
You said the bearings would be fine in the TR1000 with just a cleanup and grease.what be the pro's to ceramic.
I need distance on my cast to the seam for the big COHO's

Thanks again.

i'm not big on ceramics at all.  give them a try if you wish.  it's just a little extra money.
send me an email at alantani@yahoo.com for questions!

x2 on what alan said. In my personal experience, i dont think ceramics are worth the extra money. But if you choose to get them good luck
