I have a Temco free spool surf casting reel it has a pivoting leather patch to be used as the drag, applied with your thumb, some resurch I done on it, I think it was made in 1951, as there first salt water reel, on the opersate side, it has 3 lots of pantent numbers, but kno Dates, cheers Don. I stand correcting.
