I have a question concerning this reel...

I have looked at the rebuild several times...and in the end when the right side plate is going back on, does the white nylon silent spring "pegs" line up and fit into the two slots on the anti-reverse pawls??

From what I understand of what I have read, if in the slots, they eliminate the clicking of the dogs, correct?

If so, what is the best way to align them?   :-[

Thanks, Rick

it's a hail mary.  line them up by sight, then slide the side plate on and hope the pegs hit the holes.  it usually takes me a couple of tries.

Does the silent spring serve any other function?  Must it be included?  That stupid plastic part has worn/melted in my reel.  It seems to be causing friction making for "clunky" reeling.

only if you don't mind the loud clicking.
