Call came in to go fishing with Alan on his boat - Eddie's Brother - and I gleefully accepted.

We were told to meet at the Half Moon Bay boat launch Harbor at 5 AM  ???

I was up at 3:30 AM, Dominick was prompt at my home at 4:30 AM and we loaded up and headed out.

All of us 5 were on schedule, Alan and Khanh were launching his boat as we arrived.  We loaded out gear and we are ready to go.

Alan throttled up the twin screws and we were underway at 5:15 AM!!!!

IT's dark...

Checked out speed on the GAIA iPhone app  -  30 MPH!!!!

Dominick had this nice Rockfish to start.

Mati with a MONSTER fish.

Do you remember Mati????

He and I last fished on the Salmon day on the ARGO.

IT was 4 years ago, and the GREAT and POWERFUL Thorhammer was there, as was SWILL88 ( Steve).

I brought up this nice Ling Cod.

Mati with ANOTHER...  MONSTER Red.

I caught this Flag Rockfish - and to Alan and Mati's memory, NEVER had they caught to seen a FLAG Rockfish on any trip ever!!!!

IT is now 9 AM and we have limited out on Rockfish and some Ling Cod.   We are moving to catch more Ling Cod.

Alan's 25' Grady White runs reel smooth!!!!

Here is Pigeon Point Lighthouse, where south of here you can fish to 300' deep.  North of this point, our limit is 240'.  Them's the rules!!! ;D

We are fishing between 40' to 75' and catching MONSTER Ling Cod!!!!

In fact, Dominick had TWO MONSTER Ling's on BACK To BACK drops!!!!!   This guy knows what he is doing!!!! :o

they are just falling on the back deck.

Alan is using this trout rod & reel to catch bait Rockfish for us to use to catch the Monster lings here.

10 AM and Mati is enjoying and offering Sushi to all on the boat.

Mati just NAILED this great Ling!!!!  Mati was on FIRE today

We are done, and Alan trailered the boat to Dominick's for us to wash it down and give it a good scrubbing.

Our own Gary the BUTTMAN, has well prepared me for the task of scrubbing clean the fishing boat.

Like the  saying goes, "Many Hands make Light Work"

Here is Mati on the final wipedown.

THANK YOU Alan for the generous invitation for a wonderful fishing day on your boat.

Mati great to see you again,

Khanh - Best deckhand EVER!!!!

and Dominick for another great day on the water together!!!!

I'm beat, getting off this post, and sitting down with the Mrs. to get caught up on what had happened in her life today,

funny thing.  i've been texting mati to get him to join us for multiple trips, but the doggone guy never answered any of his text messages.  turns out that i had been sending text messages to his home phone number.   :-\

the launch ramp was a zoo this morning.  i told everyone to get there early.  good thing.  even 10 minutes later and there was a line of boats 10 deep.  we launched right away.  thanks, everyone, for being early!

we absolutely have this dialed in.  we have areas for big rockfish, areas for small rockfish, areas for lingcod, and areas for all three!  and the best thing ever is to have a great deckhand.  i drop the boat in the water and then go park the truck and trailer.  khanh gets everything ready and gets everyone settled in.  i step on board, put on my boots, foul weather gear and pfd, and they we take off.  it is that simple.  on the water, khanh takes care of the deck, rigging bait and fish cleaning.  we do have to work on his gaffing skills.  at the end of the day, he helps put the boat away, and we're done.

the kid is incredible!!!!!

Those are some beautiful rocks and lings!!!
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D
