I have always liked underspin reels for casting jigs, but they didn't last very long or had some sorta design flaw.I finally found a keeper and of course they discontinued it ::) .I have a backup and they can be still be found on EBAY. Anywho,Lew's like others are going for the "Fisher Price" look. I tore my primary SUS1 down, it does have a pinion bearing, but the main gear rotates in a plastic bushings one on each side of the case. The handle shaft goes thru for the ambidextrous conversion. I measured the bushings and ordered the same size bearings. It made a great reel even greater! Before the handle might rotate 1 revolution with a flick of the wrist, now 5 times, almost like a spinning reel, soooo smooth.
