Heddon 300, which is an imitation of the Hardy Flyweight reels.
Functionality is identical with the Hardys, not as nicely made, but has a hard chrome line guide which is better than the soft nickel silver of the Hardy.
This one was repaired badly at one point and the reelseat glued back on, slightly skew. I don't notice it fishing luckily..

Rocket Dog

I picked up a Tiburon SST 30 with the extra low gear. I have been looking for the gear set for quite a while, but nada. The reel also came with the upgraded Tib arm and handle. I also bought a Cousin's 95 JMAG for a reasonable price.

Rocket, those are both very nice purchases. Now go hook some fish while they are still eating!  :d

Quote from: pjstevko on September 28, 2024, 06:22:22 PMI find it very hard to believe that no one has bought anything since May so I'm reviving an old thread....

My latest buy is an unused first-generation Fathom 40nld2!

I'm thinking of pairing it with a Phenix Megalodon 608 PE rating 4-8 Jig rating 250-400

Adding to this thread and post....

After a bunch of research and talking to a couple who fish them I decided on ordering the phenix megalodon mpx-c 608.

I ordered it online from J&H Tackle because they had the best price....$324 delivered!

Built a Rocket CT on plates Nick sent. Cortez Jiggy magnum plates. Cortez Classic Squidder.

Crab Pot

Not tackle but I had these three spinning reel display stands in the mail when I got home.
Buy it nice or buy it twice.

Me neither. I like where they put what looks like the drag knob.
Fishing tackle is an art form and all fish caught on the right tackle are"Gfish"!

The Larchmont is a fairly common Airex reel. I have always been intriqued by its shape and design. It was very inexpensive and a solid body metal reel. I just bought it out of curiosity. I will post pictures when I open it up.
The Crown Planet is an older Daiwa product, though it is not badged with the Daiwa name. It was also very inexpensive. Vintage metal body spincast reels like the ABU and the Norseman have gotten my attention lately, along with conventional and levelwind reels. I started out only focusing on Spinners, but look at everything now.I guess my reel illness is full blown now.

Midway Tommy

The quadrant drag on the Airex Larchmont was an interesting concept in it's day. Kind of surprising it didn't catch on a little bit better.
Love those open face spinning reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco Cardinals)

This came in the mail today.  Cortez Conversions 99 magnum kit. Looking good!!!
Do what you can with that you have where you are

Hytekrednek

I just got in today a new St, Croix Legend Extreme 7'4'' heavy action casting rod. and a Ranger pro series net for the boat. My old net was just too small and not deep enough. It cost several lost fish over the past year. The new net is bigger, deeper, and has a longer telescoping handle that retracts to store easier.
This is my second Legend Extreme rod. They are amazing bottom contact rods!
