I am curious..does anyone know what gear material was used on these reels? Cast main? Forged? I see the pinion is brass,but what is the main?

Aluminum. It appears some years were black anodized, other years were different alloys. I have several that look a bit different from each other.

Great reels. I enjoy fishing my ss700 more than any of my other spinners.
