Pinion is eating yokes. Can the yoke slot on pinion be polished ? I say yes. But figured I better ask.
Ive had the same on other reels with 4/0 guts... Jeff

the answer to your question is yes.  I've had to do the on some aftermarket pinion gears where I secure it in a dowel, put it in a drill press, and run wet needle files in the yoke slot so smooth out the burrs.
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

You're using a stainless steel yoke, right?

In the past no I wasn't. But have been making sure now.

Are you using the correct yoke ??

545 uses a "punched out" jigmaster yoke to accommodate the 113h pinion. Bryan Young may have them in stainless. That's where I got mine

Yes, I have had ProGear 545, 541 yokes made in 301 full hard stainless steel.  Let me know if you need any replacements.
