farmer56 here ...  by any chance has anybody ever tried the 2-piece dam nanoflex pro+ spinning rods . they are lower priced , does that mean use once and throw away crap... i need breakdown rods to travel with me . i have a century weapon 2- piece casting on the high end ,  but once in awhile my funds say , hey stupid slow down a bit... also i rarely use a spinning reel.. mostly  newel 220 or penn fathom casting ... so i thought spend less on spinning equip.  although Fred may feel slighted that i am not treating his reels properly or the same as my casting stuff.

farmer56 back... i chose the D A M Nanoflex rod after googling strong tuff spinning rods and found a youtube video of a guy on a forklift abusing , or trying to lift alot of weight .... Now they don't make the nanoflex anymore but it's a nanoflex pro+ now ... i guess time will tell... i sold my forklift when i retired so "I guess i'm screwed " all kidding aside will it be tougher than an Ugly-stik ... also in the video it might be a one piece and not a two like my order ... just want a tuff travel rod .. farmer out...

if you see a cheap Abu Workhorse, that was their short-lived version of Ugly
composite w/ solid glass tip -- pretty good blank & handle, IMO
worth upgrading cheap steel/steel guides (OK for rare/short-term use)

Question Phil,  would the workhorse line be pre Ugly-stiks.. thanks farmer out

much later... after ugly outsource to china:

I have the $55 10' Surf Spin -- lighter in hand than Ugly w/ same specs
considering price-range: great blank, good seat & cork of any quality is a nice surprise
(must have been nothing left in the budget for guides -- JUNK!!!)
NOTE: don't know about foam handles on $30 models...  blank should be same

"most Ugly-like pre Ugly" is probably Wonderod -- Howald Process w/ all glass / no grapite
incidentally, L/UL Wonderods can get pricey, but you can find more deals on Mediums

yes medium 7' to 8' is what i think would be nice
