Where can I get these reels drilled out? Is there a member on here that can do this? This would be more as a novelty, but obviously needs to be functional. I don't live on the east coast, where I know these were popular, so I don't have any connections in my area.

A local machine shop would be your best bet. They'll be able to get it even.
