Bud Anderson, America's last World War II 'triple ace,' dies at 102

I meet Bud twice, both at District Boy Scout Eagle Scout Courts of Honor.

As down to earth of a guy you'll ever meet. Both of his speeches to the boys gave me goose bumps. He lived just up the hill from me in Auburn California.

At my son's Eagle Scout District recognition he handed out copies of his book, custom signed to each boy. I noticed he had extra copies and I asked him for a copy signed to me. He looked at me and said "your a bit old to just be getting your Eagle Scout aren't you?". Needless to say I didn't get a copy.
