if only i can find some teflon gel here in brazil i'd mix it with marine grease and do a trial and error thing until i get the mixture ratio.....also googled grease with the highest temperature and one of the results was this link http://www.tmcindustries.com/xht.html... it's interesting, i think...

I got involved in a toxic clean-up lawsuit here in California.  The main toxic chemical that required remediation was Polytetrafluoroethylene.  The state also required monitoring of ground water for a long period of time.  So if you are sticking your fingers in Cal's grease or any other grease containing PTFE, please use gloves or take other precautions.  Alan is the chemist he'll tell you or Google it.  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

Isn't a lot of cookware coated with this stuff? According to the all knowing website otherwise known as Wikipedia it's only harmful when it starts to deteriorate at 260 °C (500 °F).

QuoteWhile PTFE is stable and nontoxic, it begins to deteriorate after the temperature of cookware reaches about 260 °C (500 °F), and decomposes above 350 °C (662 °F).[21] These degradation by-products can be lethal to birds, and can cause flu-like symptoms in humans.[21]

since Pirogue posted that he found out that Polytetrafluoroethylene was used in teflon coating on fry pans, I went back and checked the file and found out I was wrong,  :-[ the chemical involved was Tetrachloroethylene.  Sorry for the mis-information.  I would wear gloves anyway.  Dominick

Inox mx6 is a high temp extreme pressure Lithium complex and PTFE base product that contains no hydrocarbons. I have provided a link to the product information which also has a list of ASTM data. Another interesting feature is mx8 is available in aerosol spray.

Hello:) I am new but read a lot here about grease:) I'm looking for best grease for my small and medium spinning reels:) I do some research on the net, but... I am from Europe and not always is possible to get product like in the USA:)
We have many good companies as MOLYDYVAL, MOLYKOT, YAMAHALUBE and others products such Daiwa and Shimano (wich is to expensive IMHO), but...
First off all I need a professional recommendation from you about few products that I spottet ONLY for my gears in Shimano Rarenium CI4 2500, and Abu Garcia STX40 (because I do not need drag grease for now or oil) Grease must be good for gears, for plastic and rubber; I want to use for gears, wormshaft http://cdn.stripersonline.com/2/2e/2e74042a_vbattach221094.jpg So I believe in your competence.
Few greases:
1) Molyduval Carat 26 (there is more from this company but this white grease have PTFE) http://2.imimg.com/data2/KR/PH/MY-527304/white-color-paste.pdf - what you are thinking? - PROS?CONS?

2) DUPONT TEFLON® MARINE WATERPROOF GREASE Auto Industrial http://www.ebay.com/itm/DUPONT-TEFLON-MARINE-WATERPROOF-GREASE-Auto-Industrial-/270774807285?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0b6faaf5#ht_3434wt_1185 - PROS?CONS?
3) MOLYKOTE 33 LIGHT(and medium-more sticky) Silicone Grease Lubricant Lube A guy from this ebay shop recommend this grease as very light (used in office printers or food industry) as very good grease for my ultra light spinning reels in more cold weather ans smooth work ( I do not need very sticky grease for my gears): http://www.ebay.com/itm/MOLYKOTE-33-LIGHT-Silicone-Grease-Lubricant-Lube-5-3-oz-/270769495392?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0b1e9d60#ht_2631wt_1185 PROS?CONS?
4)Guarder Airsoft AEG Gearbox Teflon Grease Lubricant http://www.ebay.com/itm/Guarder-Airsoft-AEG-Gearbox-Teflon-Grease-Lubricant-/150630771603?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item23124b2b93#ht_1158wt_952 This i find in google, but no more info:) just good experience with that in airsoft guns:) and cheaper then others... PROS? CONS?
5)Tamiya 87022 Molybdenum Grease 10g http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tamiya-87022-Molybdenum-Grease-/320875048107?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ab5a4acab#ht_3260wt_1185 (I know taht Daiwa use MoS2 grease fo gears) maybe this Japan producer good to? PROS? CONS?
Ou... I always go fishing in fresh water (streams, lakes)- never in salt water!
There are many choices for gears (Lithium and Calcium, Molybdenum disulfid, Lithium and Teflon and so on... but is hart to find the best choice.
Thank you and sorry for my English:) Now I'am waiting your answers!
