Had a snag on a mussel bed. Yanked hard and bail exploded due to loose screw. I may be missing parts. Recovered parts in picture below and help on missing part numbers for shimano

It looks like you're missing the collar from the bail arm screw (maybe?? it looks different to the parts diagram, unsure if they changed to a single-piece part?), the teflon washer that sits between the bail and rotor, and the washer that sits on top of the bail spring.
The two washers, probably fairly generic, but that collar is going to be a problem. Good luck getting parts out of Shimano for a 22 year old reel.

Side note but what weight is that braid? Looks real thick to be running on a 4000-size freshwater spinner...

not only 4000, but it's the light-line shallow S-spool

FGM, did you come across some little people;
beat them up & steal their mountaineering rope?  ;D ;D ;D

Does anybody have a good schematic of this model? Its 25ib powerpro on reel. Need it for bottom fishing in saltwater

Fishgolfman

Caught an 8lb blue fish before reel exploded. A push light tackle salt water and stellas can handle it. Just clean and rinse

One here:

Japanese language though, and back in 2001 Shimano didn't do part numbers like they do now.

Fishgolfman

The schematic matches a stella schematic on reel schematic. Parts 28 and 27. Are RD 7920 and RD 7919. Challenge finding part!!! Will try sourcing and google

Gfish

Alright dude! You blew-up a Stella! Looks like you're putting that high-end spinner to some real use!
Fishing tackle is an art form and all fish caught on the right tackle are"Gfish"!

Fishgolfman

Found 7920 and 7919 on eReplacement. Bought extras! Yes i like to push light reels on big fish. I fought a 80-90 lb cow nose ray on 4000 stella. Brought it to boat and let go. The rod was a slow pitch jig stick heavy.

That's some solid detective work. Looks like Shimano continued to use those parts on other reels.

Hope you can successfully resurrect it!

Try a hose of fresh water from time to time to get the worst of the schmutz off!

It's not protective, its corrosive lol. A tribute to Shimano quality there aren't barnacles on that one.  :P

Good on ya', Mate! :d
