Hi guys,
Do you know anything about this reel? A friend of mine purchased one just today...I have heard not so good concerning the reel...anyway it would be grat to know something of your opinion...

alantani

no, they're pretty good.   i do not know if they yet do the same things to the bearings that okuma does, but they are linked.

Maybe I missed it? What kind of Tiburon????
luck is the residue of design.

alantani

tiburon makes their own line of reels, including and auto-shift two speed that actually works pretty well for wahoo.

Would you recommend it for bluefin tuna fishing?

alantani

the larger ones will be fine, mostly it depends on the size of the fish.  line capacity is the main issue.  reels are designed to hold a certain amount of spectra and deliver an appropriate amount of drag.

The Tib 6 is my favorite reel for wahoo and a friend of mine landed a 220 #   YFT last month on a Tib 50

alantani

the tibs would probably benefit from an inspection or two, but the design and performance should be fine!
