Anybody planning of fishing the 1st day? Just asking. I'm NOT going to fish the 1st day. Did that a few years ago and after slinging iron all afternoon my elbow locked up and I had a miserable couple of days after that. Don't worry youngsters, when YOU hit the 70's the check engine light comes on quite frequently. I ain't as good as I once was, and I ain't even as good once as I ever was. And no, I wasn't an English major.

Alan posted a "general recommendations for cedros" in the Mexico board (no Caps, he wasn't an English major either) with some good info on what to bring. And what not to bring. Very helpful to us in our dotage. Probably ought to make that a "sticky".

A word to the wise (which obviously leaves out most of you guys), avoid fishing with Tracy if at all possible. He's a fish hog. Last time we fished together I spent most of the day playing videographer on all the big fish he caught.
Looking forward to the trip. Less than 4 weeks to go. Lock and load!

I'm not planning to fish Day 1.  This will be my 1st Cedros trip with the group.  To say I'm excited would be an understatement!  Can't wait!

SOOOOO, does anyone want to fish the first half day??? I know I do, but it's often more fun to have a fishing partner. Since this is my only major fishing trip each year, I like to maximize my fishing time. I was thinking about an afternoon of calico fishing with artificials, unless the captain says we should fish for other species. Anybody want to fish with me?  Rich

Rich, if you don't have any other takers, I'll fish with you the 1st day. Might take me a little while to get set up once we get to the lodge, Alan is bringing most of my tackle and gear. I'm not slinging much iron, however. If I hang around the lodge all afternoon the 1st day, I might put a huge dent in my tequila supply. Todd and I killed a fifth of bourbon in Port Hardy in one sitting last week. That's my quota for getting drunk for the next month or so.
I guess I can't run with the big dogs anymore.

Thanks Mike, I have sent a message to Rosie and we'll see what she is able to arrange for us. We will minimize the surface iron and try other techniques (for yellowtail) or target other species like calicos or halibut.
