Newell S 338-5 with stuck pinion on spool shaft

on march 2024, Bryan sent me a new spool and frame bars to make this reel into a 332 size but I still needed the gear set (as you can see in this thread the main/pinion gears are trashed), I think I didnt paid attention when Bryan said jigmaster 500 gears will fit, this reel is still on my to-do list but I think will get into it soon, I will wait for Tom to list the parts of Newell he will sell on ebay, meanwhile I will look if by chance or luck I have a jig500 gear set on my miscellaneous parts box (99% sure not having one).

I just had similar issue and I used butane mini torch that has fine tip and heated just the pinion until it expanded enough to let go.

I think I have some jgmstr gears but they may be highspeed
