I ordered this BFS Magic L rod https://a.co/d/hbIBrDU for my BlackMax BFS reel and it just didn't feel right. This is a nice UL rod for $30.The 6ft version has 9 Fuji guides on it,the tip is too small for a rubber bobber stop though like I use for live bait fishing.I did craft a micro "Santee Cooper" rig for it for bottom fishing & tried my Ming Yang baitcaster on there,& got an ugly backlash. So I took it off and started thinking . I had this NIB Lew's spincast reel and replaced  the 2 plastic handle bushings with ball bearings that I already had.
Then I changed the reel to LH retrieve, tied on a 1/64th trout magnet,it is one slick rig,purty too-Jason! No fish on it yet,it's only a matter of time... I imagine taking it next time I go to the mountains to catch a grand daddy or mama rainbow,prolly see a big daddy king bream before that though.
