ordering parts to make four foot 200 pound fluoro leaders for bluefin jigs  i use 200 pound pink fluoro, but any good quality fluorocarbon will work just fine.  i start with a 4 foot section and cut it at an angle with a very sharp pocket knife.  there are two crimps at each end, and each crimp is double crimped.  if you make these, please get a scale and pull on them to 50 or 60 pounds to make sure that they do not slip.

Sorry to come late to this but might I suggest using flexible nylon tubing instead of the metal springs as chafe protection? I have had loops damaged by the end of the metal coil or by the swivel eye actually forcing its way between the metal coils to rub directly on the mono (whether nylon or fluoroc.)

I colour-code the loops - pale blue for flurocarbon leaders and clear or black for nylon depending on the diameter of the leader material. Many colours are available in a wide range of sizes.

Also, the nylon tubing is cheap as chips if you buy direct from the manufacturers and not in little bits from retail shops, and can then be cut into whatever length suits you best.
