Stella SW 14K (2019)

I have a new Stella SW 14K after putting braid on it at high tension. The reel felt a bit rough.. spun freely but was a fsint 'rumbling' felt through the fingers when couchreeling it.

It went for service but has come back same.

Like I say it spins very freely but compared to my Stella 18K (also new) the 14k feels like a very low rumble.

I notice as well on these Stellas when push handle in no backlash but when turn handle normally there is a backlash in the handle (not the AR is backlash in gears)

I wonder if the 14k needs shimming or of gears are slightly damaged to cause that very very.slight rumble which is non existent in the 18k

bearings normally go bad before gears.  your reel tech should have checked the bearings, or just replaced them automatically.  if the gears are bad, you might be screwed.  gears might be hard or impossible to get.  not sure.  i never work on these.  they are an absolute nightmare to service.  it might be best to talk to the guy that just worked on it.
